In this extended, 4-hour workshop, you will create a ceramic shadow box using forms, templates, and design approaches developed in my studio. This is a guided, hands-on experience designed to help you make a piece that feels intentional, personal, and meant to live in your home.
We will work with a light, sandstone colored stoneware selected for it's rich texture and natural color. These materials are rarely accessible outside of professional studios and bring a quiet depth and presence to each piece.
Throughout the workshop, I will guide you through:
You'll receive hands-on instruction, individualized feedback, and thoughtful guidance at each stage of the process. Pieces are professionally fired after the workshop and finished to highlight the natural beauty of the clay.
A touch of prior clay experience is recommended, but not necessary.
This workshop will take place outdoors in my shaded backyard studio, creating a relaxed and inspiring setting for slow, tactile play with clay. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
Finished work will be ready for pickup in ~5–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.
