In this small-group workshop, you will create a one-of-a-kind ceramic altar or wall hanging using rich red stoneware clay. This guided, hands-on experience is designed to help you create a piece that feels intentional, personal, and meant to live in your home.
We will work with a warm red stoneware selected for its depth of color and earthy character. Left unglazed after firing, the clay reveals its natural beauty and subtle surface variations, giving each finished piece a quiet, timeless presence.
A collection of forms, templates, stamps, and texture tools developed in my studio will be available to help guide your design while still leaving space for your own creative expression.
Throughout the workshop, I will guide you through:
You’ll receive hands-on instruction, individualized feedback, and thoughtful guidance throughout the process. Pieces are professionally fired after the workshop and finished to highlight the natural beauty of the clay.
No prior clay experience is necessary. This workshop is ideal for beginners and returning students who want to create a meaningful object with care and intention.
The workshop will take place outdoors in my shaded backyard studio, creating a relaxed and inspiring setting for slow, tactile play with clay. Light snacks and drinks will be provided.
Finished work will be ready for pickup in approximately 5–6 weeks. Shipping is also available for an additional fee.
I believe access to creative spaces matters. A limited number of community supported spots may be available at a reduced rate for those who need it. If cost is a barrier, you are welcome to reach out directly to inquire about availability.
